This question and answer session is an open platform to ask our expert panel about managing psychiatric illness in your perinatal patients!

Project TEACH is funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health and all services and events, such as this intensive training, are offered at no-cost to clinicians in New York State.

Target Audience

New York State primary care and family practice physicians, obstetricians/gynecologists, pediatricians and psychiatrists; as well as, psychologists, nursing professionals, social workers, residents, and mental health clinicians working with primary care, pediatric or ob/gyn practices.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, participants will learn to:

  1. Apply the risk/benefits and alternatives to the use of psychiatric pharmacotherapies in pregnancy to your patient case.
  2. Discuss the risk/benefits and alternatives to the use of psychiatric pharmacotherapies in lactation.
  3. Determine how to document risk/benefit discussions surrounding perinatal psychopharmacology use in the medical record.
